Help Keep Pets and Their Families Together

Compassionate Care Shouldn’t Depend on Circumstance

The Veterinary Home Care Foundation is working to make compassionate veterinary home care more accessible for seniors, vulnerable individuals, and Albertans facing financial barriers.

No family should have to choose between financial hardship and compassionate care for a beloved pet.

Access to Care Matters

For many Albertans, compassionate veterinary home care is simply out of reach.

Seniors living on fixed incomes, individuals with disabilities, and families facing long-term financial hardship are often unable to access the care their pets need, especially when transportation, mobility, or end-of-life support are involved.

An elderly pet owner living alone may be unable to transport a beloved companion for urgent or end-of-life care. For families facing mobility or financial barriers, home veterinary support can provide comfort, dignity, and care during some of life’s most difficult moments.

The Veterinary Home Care Foundation was created to help build access to compassionate veterinary home care for individuals and families who may not otherwise be able to afford it.

“I created the Veterinary Home Care Foundation because access to compassionate care should not be limited by mobility, circumstance, or financial barriers. My hope is to help more families receive the support they need when it matters most.”

- Dr. Matthew Hejazi

Building the Foundation

The Veterinary Home Care Foundation is currently in the development phase and focused on establishing sustainable funding, governance, and operational structure before financial assistance begins.

At this stage:

  • Financial assistance applications are not yet open

  • Funding support is not yet being distributed

  • Donations are helping establish the Foundation’s future care fund

Our goal is to build a compassionate, ethical, and sustainable program that can support Albertans and their pets for years to come.

Ways to Give

Legacy & Estate Giving

Monthly Giving

Monthly donations provide dependable support as the Foundation grows and prepares to launch future assistance programs.

One-Time Donations

Every contribution helps establish the Foundation’s future care fund and brings compassionate veterinary home care closer to those who need it most.
